Drumming up a happier workplace

Research
There is a growing range of research reporting the positive effects of drumming on health including:
- Cellular immune system improvement after one hour of group drumming Bittman et al, Jan, 2001, Alternative Therapies
- Drumming sessions at work helped employees defend themselves from stress with feelings of fatigue and depression decreased. Results included lower staff turnover and improved “mood-scores” by almost 50%, with the positive effects of the drumming continuing for a year.

- Drummers were significantly more elated, less depressed, and talked about deeper issues during the shared activity. Drummers also reported feeling more energetic, composed and confident than those participating in other exercises.
