Disproving
the theory that hitting things never solves anything
Drum Dynamics
run drum circles for a wide variety of organisations. Drum circles
can be used by staff groups and management teams at any level
in the organisation.
Drum circles are designed for any group that would benefit from
being brought together towards a common cause using a practical
medium that highlights and appreciates each member's unique
differences, skills and abilities.
What
is a drum circle?
Drum circles
are like an instant DIY orchestra designed specifically for
non-musicians. Each member can play his or her part without
any previous musical experience. A facilitator - one of our
experienced drum professionals - leads the circle in a variety
of fun and engaging rhythm-based exercises that all can join
in with during the course of the workshop.
By hosting
a drum circle, your team or organisation can benefit from:
- A fun
memorable day where employees learn a new creative skill
- Improving
team understanding of each other by highlighting the link
between musical and verbal communication
- Team
members' recognising how others' contributions can enhance
their own skills
- A powerful
way to create moments that help a team bond together. The
exercises highlight positive and negative leadership in a
non-threatening manner, develop a sense of team relationship
and team bonding to a task.
By learning
to listen and respond to changes in rhythm, individuals achieve
further self-understanding and a sense of how to work together,
achieving a better musical and organisational result. Drum circles
can even help create or release conflict.
Sceptical?
The vast majority of people are initially highly sceptical of
the purpose and value of taking part in a drum circle, however,
feedback has shown a wide range of benefits with drum circle
members embracing and enjoying the experience to the full. At
the very least each will enjoy a fun memorable experience
where they learn in a one day session how to play a new instrument.
